Thanksgiving!!!

This year was my first year away from my own family for a holliday. It was a new and fun experience. I had a chance to sharpen my cooking skills and make some Butterflake Rolls and Cauliflower Dilly, two of my family's traditional family favorites. Luckilly, they turned out to be a pretty big hit :)

There were a lot of people at our dinner. We had to move into the church for our meal. I'm not used to so many people so it was nice to have some space. The church gym was a handy place to be since after the delicious dinner, we played volleyball, soccer and even a little frisbee.

Halloween

We started working on our Ghostbusters costumes about a month before Halloween, which was lucky considering we had to go find all the stuff and build them ourselves. It was a fun project. We found almost every thing we needed at the DI and in grandma's pile of cardboard boxes. We ended up using everything from bike pumps, to film cansisters, to pesticide canister hoses.

Together. The picture on the left is from Jill's Halloween party. The costumes were great. We even made a ghost trap to go with the outfits :) It was a great Halloween. (ha ha, my jumpsuit was WAY too big so I look really chubby.)

Carving Pumpkins

We carved some fantastic pumpkins this year for Halloween. Mine was more like a gourd than a pumpkin, but we didn't really have anything else to carve besides the huge monster Patrick chose to carve. Both wonderful specimen were compliments of mom's garden. I was done with mine in about 5 minutes, but Patrick's masterpiece took about 45 minutes of carefully thought out cuts and measurments :) Then we got to the picture taking....

Patrick's pumpkin was about 5 inches thick!

Where are the videos?

So apperently, there's been a little confusion as to where the videos I mentioned in my last post are located. I have added about 3 or 4 of them to some earlier posts so if you scroll down and look for them, they are mixed in with the pictures. There will be more videos added in with future posts so be on the lookout for them also. Sorry it was a little confusing. I hope that cleared it up.

So I managed to figure out how to post vidoes to this thing. Turns out I had the wrong setting on the blog post editor....silly, I know, but hey! Now you can not only read and look at the pictures, you can also watch and hear us make fools of ourselves for your enjoyment! What could be better than that? And kids, what can we learn from this? "The computer is only as smart as the person running it". (Actually, I think it's all an elaborate conspiracy. The computers are out for blood! ;) ) Any way, I've added some videos to previous posts, so you might want to check them out. Enjoy :)

Conference Weekend in Preston! :D happiness

We spent a great Conference weekend at my parent's house in Preston...well, in Whitney if you want to be techinical.
Besides watching Conference (which was spectacular) We also did a lot of other fun things such as cook out, bowling and we also played some epic games of Uno and several equally epic rounds of Spoons. It was fabulous. My brother Matt and his wife Brittany were there along with my sister Jill.

These are some pictures of the cookout. The firepit is a new addition to the back yard and this is the first time it was ever used and officially broken in.

USU Homecoming 09

We decided it would be fun to go to USU's Homcoming dance and football game.  It turned out to be very fun.  When we came home to get ready for the dance, however, we found that the power in our apartment was out so we had to go to Isa's house get ready. Luckilly, that was the only problem we had and the rest of the night went smoothly :)

Patrick was being sneaky and suspicious the whole day before we went to the dance. He went to town to run some "errands" and as soon as he got home, he sent me to our room and wouldn't let me come out until he said. When he finally told me to come out, I found this waiting for me.  All the donuts, roses, and the card were included :) I love my hubby.

We got a little bored at the dance, so we took a walk around some places on campus. This is the fountain by the student center.

We also decided to try out the True Aggie "A" before anybody else got there. The "A" on old main in the background is glowing blue becuase it was Homecoming week. It's also lit blue when our sports teams win. Otherwise, it glows white. The Block A is traditionally where everybody on campus becomes a true-aggie by kissing somebody on top of it on midnight on a full moon or homecoming...or something like that...

We got a little hungry while waiting for True Aggie night at midnight. The only place we could find open was Village Inn. It was a great meal, but unfortunately, we were surrounded by screaming highschoolers. It was Logan and Sky View's Homecomin too and they just got done with their football game. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was there because the game had barely ended. The food was delicious even though the noise level was pretty high.

Somehwere behind this mass of Patrick is me becoming a True Aggie after the dance. There were millions of people there. It was super loud and super crowded, but we had a great time ;)

After the dance, we came home and crashed, but not before taking advantage of the camera's timer.

The next day we went to the game. Amazingly, we won... anyway, We had fun painting each other's faces.
